What is
Project Graduation?
  • Class dues are $40.00 per year. Dues help offset the cost your child’s yearbook and cap & gown.
  • The point system program runs through all 4 years of your child’s time at CPHS. Points help lessen the cost of prom bids which can be expensive. Students earn points by paying their class dues in a timely manner, through their fundraising efforts, some other school activities and being involved in the PTSO! Class advisors keep track of each student’s points.
Project graduation is a national initiative designed to provide a safe, fun, and supervised night for all graduating seniors.
In 2005, the Cliffside side park high school community experienced a tragedy when a young woman’s life was lost due to a horrific accident on graduation night. Since then, the family along with the Cliffside park and Fairview communities have worked together to avoid the loss of another child on graduation night. The family, Dr. Jorge l. Verea and Lourdes Verea formed the Rebeka Verea Foundation in their daughter’s honor. The mission of the foundation is to educated teens about driving responsibly. To date, the foundation has worked with 27 school districts to provide funding for safe, celebratory festivities on high school graduation night. As a result, the Cliffside park project graduation was initiated and is organized and managed by the high school parents.
Project graduation is an evening where graduating seniors spend one last night together in a fully supervised, alcohol and drug-free gathering, in a secure and undisclosed location. Transportation is provided after the graduation ceremony to the venue and back to the next morning to assure the safety of every single student attending. The evening is funded by money raised through events and fundraising which is only possible with the help of parents and students!
